(Project FeederWatch continues into 2012 and runs to April (VH)

It is not too late to join in and count birds in your backyard for Cornell Ornithology Lab .
Join thousands of feeder watchers across the continent counting birds at their feeders.  It's as easy as 1) putting up feeders, 2) Counting birds that visit* and 3) sending the data to scientists.  Learn more about birds and bird feeding and to sign up, visit the FeederWatch web site http://www.birds.cornell.edu/pfw/ . We've been doing it for nine years.  Reply for more info and our bird list from 2010-2011   We can also give you local information and a handy-dandy form to keep track of your data each week.

*  It's real easy.  For each species you record the maximum number you see at one time on a weekly 2-day period, like 1 downy woodpecker, 2 northern cardinals, 6 American goldfinches.

And it's fun for the kids and grandkids!
