NTC Meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm
(Eat & Greet at 6:30pm and Meeting at 7:00pm) 
 

Dr. Marcy Brown Marsden is a long-time friend of the North Texas Master Naturalist.  She currently is the chairman of the Biology Department of the University of Dallas where she teaches biology, animal behavior, ornithology and Darwin.  Here current interests are birds of the area and Hexalectris orchids, particularly at Cedar Ridge Preserve.  She and her students and MN volunteers have been studying these orchids for about 7-8 years and have collected oodles of data.  She has published several papers about the orchids.  Her topic tonight is "Distribution and conservation of native myco-heterotrophic orchids in Texas. Please come to the meeting and presentation to learn about these unusual orchids and learn what myco-heterotrophic means.

Meetings are open to the public.
