SUBJECT: Master Gardener FireWise Landscape Specialist Training

Despite spring rains, most areas of the state are still in drought. Vegetation is drying out quickly and the fire danger remains high. Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association, in association with Texas AgriLIFE Extension Service of Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington Counties and the Texas Forest Service, is offering a Master Gardener FireWise Landscape Specialist Training in Fayette County on June 29th and 30th, 2012. The training will take place at the Fayette County Agriculture Building, 255 Svoboda Ln, La Grange, TX 78945.

Each trainee will receive a flash drive with PowerPoint Presentations, and other materials to help make presentations to community groups about FireWise Landscaping. Dress appropriately for outdoor activities as there will be a landscape assessment activity. In this informational packet you will find the registration form, a preliminary agenda, listing of lodging in the La Grange area, and a map with directions to the Agriculture Building.

Only 50 participant spots are available for this training, so please submit your registration forms as soon as possible. Registration is on a first come/first serve basis. Payment and registration forms must arrive at the Fayette County Extension Office by June 11, 2012. Registrants will be notified of their acceptance via email by June 13, 2012. The last day to cancel registration without forfeiting registration money will be June 18, 2012; any cancelation notice must be received via email: bmgavolunteer@gmail.com.
