Master Naturalist Jim Varnum conducts a tour of Parkhill Prairie in eastern Collin County.  This prairie is on blackland soil with gilgais.  It contains both native and restored prairies.  And, lots of native grasses and wildflowers, birds and butterflies.  And opportunity to see bison.

  • Take US 380 east 22.0 miles through Princeton and Farmersville to Hunt county road 36.
  • Take 36 north 8.5 miles through Merit to county road 1130… watch for Parkhill signs.
  • Turn left onto 1130 and drive 1.0 mile to the park.
