NTC Monthly Meeting - Dr. Nelson Rich, “Collin County Plant List and Collin College herbarium”

A herbarium is a collection of plant specimens for a specific area.  Researchers us herbarium specimens in their studies.  An example of a large herbarium is the one at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (Ft. Worth) that houses 1M+ specimens worldwide.  Dr. Nelson Rich maintains a small one at Collin County College with just a few hundred specimens from Collin Co.  Dr. Rich presents the flora of Collin County and his herbarium.

Meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm
(Eat & Greet at 6:30pm and Meeting at 7:00pm)
