Connemara Meadow - Restoration Workday (Woody Invasive Removal)
We will focus on grubbing out smaller invasive trees and shrubs or severing larger woody invasives and spraying the stump with herbicide to kill the roots. This is necessary to guard the preserve against the continuous efforts plants such as Chinese privet to gain a foothold in the preserve.
The 72-acre Connemara Meadow Preserve is closed to the public to give the meadow a chance to recover from more than two decades of use and to give the Connemara advisory team adequate time to assess the immediate health of the ecosystem as well as its future needs. In order for the public to continue enjoying the land's beauty during this time, Connemara is hosting periodic events and guided walks on the property.
Location - Connemara Meadow is located in north Plano on Alma Dr, south of Bethany Dr. in Plano.
