  • We will have a month or two to remove the plants.
  • We will keep you posted on this effort. As we learned from rescuing plants from Bluestem Nursery last winter there are many details that have to be considered in identifying the plants, removing them, storing them until they can be planted, and working with the various sites that could use the plants.

Texas Master Naturalist Annual Meeting
Annual Meeting is October 26 to 28
Registration for the TMN Annual Meeting closes this Friday, October 5. There are no rooms available at the Sheraton Georgetown as well as the overflow hotel nearby, the Candlewood Suites. There are alternative suggested in the announcements for other hotels, AirBnB, or camping. Members have found reasonable rates at nearby hotels in  Georgetown you just won’t have the convenience of a room in the conference center.

Our chapter has 48 members registered for the annual conference. We will make a list available of those going to the conference so you may make arrangements to share a room or car pool to Georgetown.

The NTMN Member Survey
In November we will have an online survey to get your feedback on important chapter issues. We will use this information in our planning session in January 2019. It has been several years since we sent out a general survey so we are anxious to get more up-to-date feedback from you.

The survey we used in the summer asked you about:

  • Committees and projects in which you may want to participate.
  • Whether you would be interested in one of the four board positions that we need to fill for the 2019-2020 term.
  • If you would like to nominate yourself or another member for a board position.

The member survey in November will be focused on your opinions about how well we are achieving our mission in the community. We will ask about issues such as communication, projects, programs at chapter meetings, and etc. Basically how you feel we are meeting your needs as well as the needs of our community.

Thank you,
Bruce Stewart
