Highlights of the Meeting
So happy so many of you came to this year’s summer social as we began celebrating North Texas Master Naturalist’s 25th anniversary.
Congratulations to members achieving volunteer service milestones this quarter: 250 hours – Barbara Cohen, Robert Kaaa, Lara Guerra, Chiew Sing Ling, Samantha Knight, Matthew Stepanek, Chrissy Cortez-Mathis; 500 hours – Carol Garrison, Nancy Kraut, Brenda Catlett, Lybo Buchanan, Kent Trulsson, Shelby Smith; and 1,000 hours Marion Lineberry and Jennifer Stuart. Well done!
We recognized 24 early certifiers from the class of 2023, five of whom double certified.
All four New Class Projects displayed summaries of their work and reported highlights of their projects. Congratulations to all for jobs well done. We have some strong candidates for the Annual Meeting Project Fair.
25th Anniversary T-shirt – be on the lookout for our special 25th anniversary celebration NTMN t-shirt. It will be available to order in time to wear at the fall Annual Meeting.
Many thanks to all who made this year’s summer social possible: Barry Walters, Carol Silverthorne, Ellen and Doug Guiling, Joe LaBay, Alan Lusk, Tim Skipworth, Sue Matkin, the New Class of 2023 and many more. Special thanks to Texas Discovery Gardens for hosting us once more. And we are especially grateful to David Hurt’s Wild Birds Unlimited for the fabulous door prizes!
Thanks to our guests and members for participating in this month’s summer social. I hope all feel welcome at NTMN.
Take care,
Scott Hudson
