Tenison Park is a Dallas public park. The pollinator garden and creek segment are located within the portion of Tenison Park that is naturalized, without concrete structures, corner of East Grand and Tenison Memorial Dr. in East Dallas. Many habitat management principles are evident in both areas – native plant promotion, invasive species removal, insect and bird habitats.
Volunteer activities in the pollinator garden include: garden maintenance, new native plant installation, removal of Bermudagrass in the beds, Eastern bluebird nestbox monitoring, and seed collecting and dispersal.
Volunteer activities for the creek restoration include: erosion control, native plant installation, invasive plant removal, bird habitat creation with brush piles, and species documentation on iNaturalist.
This project site may also host workshops and/or Advanced Training opportunities.
