Budgets for Projects Are Due

  • Project leaders should have their numbers to the treasurers for what they will need to spend in 2019.
  • Use 2019 Project budget template and then send the spreadsheet to tr*******@**mn.org.
  • We are not automatically carrying forward what was budgeted in 2018; if you don’t reapply, funds won’t be available.
  • The board needs to finalize the 2019 budget at the December board meeting.

Executive Board Approved for 2019-2020 Term

  • The slate presented at the October meeting was approved by acclimation by the membership present at the November chapter meeting.
  • The new members of the executive board are listed in the announcements.
  • Thank everyone on the new board for their service.

Clymer Meadow Work Day Friday November 9

  • The work day at Clymer Meadow is on Friday this week, not Saturday.
  • We are fortunate to have Brandon Belcher managing Clymer Meadow for The Nature Conservancy. He has opened it up for us and others to help with the maintenance of the facility.
  • Use the Google Map Coordinates in the announcement to get to Clymer Meadow. You may find the directions to the address listed may not take you to the entrance to Clymer Meadow.

Saturday is a Busy Workday

  • We have had several activities rained out this fall that have been rescheduled for this Saturday, November 10. You will be welcomed to help at any of these events.
  • Please review the announcements to choose an activity where you would like to contribute.
  • Additional details are in the announcements.

Three Major Initiatives Set for 2019

  • We are the host chapter for the 2019 Texas Master Naturalist Annual Conference next October in Rockwall.
  • We will be hosting an urban wildlife conference in August. Sam Kieschnick will prepare a program and our chapter will handle the administration for the event.
  • Dallas County has sold the building on Marsh Lane and has purchased the Brinker International building on LBJ at Hillcrest. A move isn’t likely until September. We will follow the progress as the plan for the Brinker building are developed.
  • Details in the announcement.

We Need to Hear From You…

In a separate email we have sent you a link to an online survey to get your feedback on important chapter issues. We will use this information in our planning session in January 2019. It has been several years since we sent out a general survey so we are anxious to get more up-to-date feedback from you.

The member survey is focused on your opinions about how well we are achieving our mission in the community. We will ask about issues such as communication, projects, programs at chapter meetings, and etc. Basically how you feel we are meeting your needs as well as the needs of our community.

Please fill out the survey at your convenience – we need your feedback. Plus if you fill out the survey now I won’t have to remind you to do it later. Nobody likes to be nagged, but if necessary …
