Announcements from the Summer Social on July 12

We had a great time at the Summer Social at the Texas Discovery Garden!  Thanks to everyone who helped with the event:

  • Tamara Brooks
  • Andie Comini
  • Rose Mercer
  • Bob Richie
  • Elizabeth Rosenauer
  • Elaine White

There were great food and smiles all around.

The games were fun and the table directions were outstanding.

If you helped with the tables and chairs don’t forget to post your volunteer hours.  Report VH to NTX: Administrative Work/Chapter Administration – Hospitality (Summer Social)

We had only a few announcements.

Clymer Meadow Workday (VH)

We have reactivated the NTMN project for Clymer Meadow. Wayne Coltrane, an NTMN member, has taken an interest in the Clymer Meadow and he and Brandon Belcher, site manager, have organized a workday there.

When: July 15, 2017 @ 7:30 am – 12:00 pm
Where: Clymer Meadow Preserve
Contact: Brandon Belcher – 903-752-0676 (c)

We have several plant species ready for harvest and would be very grateful for assistance in collecting ripe seed by “wild harvest” in the prairie. This is a great opportunity to see some areas of Clymer not typically visited during tours. You will see some of our recent work, as well.

Volunteers should arrive at 7:30. Meet at the gate to the barn. Sunscreen, hat, long pants, gloves, bottled water and insect repellent are all recommended. Other materials needed will be provided. We expect to wrap up around noon.

RSVP to br*************@*nc.org or 903-752-0676 (c) by July 13, if possible.

Location: Clymer Meadow Preserve, 4318 FM 1562, Celeste, TX 75423

33.300251, -96.237713 can be entered into Google maps for the correct location, or this link can be used:

The meeting place is on FM 1562, east of the intersection with FM 1140 but west of FM 1093.
