Event Name: Trail Maintenance
Date/Time: Every Second Saturday of the month from 8am to 11am. Except for July and November.

Description of event and what volunteers will be doing:
Join our enthusiastic Trail Maintenance Crew and make a tangible impact on our local trails! Whether you’re an experienced outdoor enthusiast or just looking to spend some time in nature, your efforts will help maintain and beautify our treasured pathways.
Activities may include:
Pruning Trees: Keeping trails clear and safe by trimming overgrown branches.
Clearing Debris: Removing fallen leaves, branches, and other obstacles.
Removing Broken Infrastructure: Dismantling and disposing of damaged trail structures.
Removing Invasive Species: Helping to protect native flora by removing non-native plants.
Planting Native Plants: Enhancing the trail environment by planting species that belong to the local ecosystem.
Using Hand Tools: Working with tools such as weed whips, hand saws, and pruners to carry out various maintenance tasks.
Important Requirements:
Closed-toed shoes and long pants are required to ensure safety and protection while working on the trails.
Gloves are recommended.
Please Note: If it rains on the day of your scheduled volunteer shift, the event will be canceled for safety reasons.
Volunteers must register with the City of Coppell and pass a background check, paid by the City, to volunteer at the Biodiversity Education Center.
