EVENT : Juneteenth Celebration at Miller Family Park Saturday,DATE: JUNE 20, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.LOCATION: Miller Family Park, 2814 Persimmon RoadDallas, Texas 75241 MIller Family Park is located in the Five Mile Neighborhood which is a historical Freedman Town.Volunteer Details: Volunteers are needed for an outreach/nature exploration table with a kids craft from 8:30-2:30. Volunteers are also needed to lead small groups on nature walks, “look and explore your park”. Sign up here:volunteersignup.org/EDKJDVolunteers are will need to bring water, snacks, sun/insect protection. A small parking lot and on street parking is available near the park, porta potty is available. Food and drinks will be sold via food vendors.Accessibility: Parking: limited handicap parking available. Outreach table will be located in the shade, on an uneven grassy surface. Volunteers can sit or stand at outreach table with two other volunteers. Nature walk leaders will be using sidewalks and uneven grassy surfaces, walking .5 miles or less , standing, walking at a slow pace and talking with adults and children in sunny areas for at least 30-45 minutes.
