March Meeting Annoucements

March Meeting
The program this month gave us an overview of poison ivy. Amy Martin described how to avoid contact with poison ivy and how to minimize the symptoms of the rash once the itching and inflammation sets in..  Learn more from Amy Martin’s website and take a look at her book Itchy Business: How to Treat the Poison Ivy and Poison Oak Rash, Prevent Exposure and Eradicate the Plant.

Pemberton Big Springs Conservation Easement
We have a Native Plants and Grasses Planting Day at Pemberton Big Spring on March 11. This event has been postponed after feral hogs ripped up the turf; they trapped and removed dozens of hogs in December and January. We have over 600 native grasses, milkweeds, and wildflowers to plant as well some invasives to remove. We will be there from nine to noon on Saturday morning. If you haven’t been there before or would like to learn more about the Pemberton Big Springs Conservation Easement, there will be an orientation at 8 a.m. that you should find very interesting.  See the calendar for more information.

Native Plants and Prairies Day
The page on the NTMN website is now active. Links are provided so you may learn more about:  Exhibitors, Sponsors, Walk leaders, Speakers and Artists.  Access to the NPPD page is from the NPPD tab on the Public website.
