Guides provide tours of the Native Texas Park, educating visitors about reclaiming the Blackland Prairie Habitat, the importance of using native and adapted plants, hydrology/conservation of water, invasive species, birds, and insects, and specific seasonal emphasis.
2024 Activities – 10 volunteers with 261 hours of service performed
- Recruited more volunteers – 14 MN from 3 MN Chapters
- Continue providing free Spring/Fall tours. 683 people attended tours in 2024. Regular and themed tours on topics such as: Native Birds, Solar Eclipse, Monarch Tagging, Bird Migration/Lights Out, Wildflower Seeding, and the Texan by Nature Conservation Summit
- Continue to develop relationships with other groups/organizations—Approval for Dallas County Master Gardeners to pursue involvement in Park, NPSOT class tours for NLCP Level 1 & Level 2
- Coordinated with Bush Center staff to develop Tree Walk/Scavenger Hunt
