2023 Activities – 4 volunteers with 119 hours of service performed (all sites)
- Frankford Renner Branch:
- Winter and spring maintenance included trimming, mulching and hand watering.
- In May 2023 more native pollinator plants, including milkweed plants, were added.
- In June through September 2023 the garden was hand watered 3 times per week because of the extreme heat and lack of rain. The sprinkler system is still not working. Plants were trimmed as needed.
- This is the first or second year for many of the plants so they are still getting established and need extra care.
- Library staff reported much public interest in the garden, which is located at the entrance to the building.
- A binder with photos of plants and animals in the garden, lists of native pollinator plants, list of resources, and a timeline of garden events is located inside the library next to the seed library.
- Plant labels in the garden is a goal for 2024
