Josey Ranch Pocket Prairie

Project Title:  Josey Ranch Pocket Prairie
Project Location:
1700 Keller Springs Rd. Carrollton, TX 75006

The Josey Ranch Pocket Prairie is one acre of restored habitat on Carrollton Park property, adjacent to the Josey Ranch public library. Since 2015, volunteers have installed 2 Monarch Waystations, a large Pollinator Garden, and started a 1000 sq ft Wildflower area. However, inconsistent maintenance and weather have deteriorated the areas, and they need rejuvenation, including replacing plants, adding plants, pruning, and improving bioswales and rock riverbed.

In addition to habitat maintenance, there are several public outreach opportunities, including guided tours, classes and events such as Carrollton Earth Day.
