The North Texas Mycological Association was formed in 2021 to bring together the North Texas community and convey awareness to the vital role that fungi have in our ecosystem.
We are dedicated to the scientific study of mushrooms known as mycology and wish to gain a better understanding of the local biodiversity found in the North Texas region.
Our organization encompasses everything from mushroom identification, forays, workshops, cultivation, research, and education of all things fungal.
We offer volunteer and advanced training opportunities for master naturalists. The first Saturday of the month we will offer live and or hybrid/zoom advanced training classes. We would love volunteers to help with foray logistics, plant and animal identification, newsletter articles, maintaining our website, and training master naturalist to help educate both adults and youth on mycology. Forays focused on identification and edible mushrooms will be offered as advanced training.
We are dedicated to sustainable foraging and respect for our green spaces, public and private.
