Outreach Events

Outreach Events include the following:

Public Outreach – An event or activity where participants come and go and are able to inquire on a broad set of topics (indirect clients). Examples include booths, visitor centers, and wildlife hotlines.

Educational Outreach – An event or activity where participants have a planned learning objective and generally stay for a full event that has specific start and end times and a single agenda (direct clients). Examples include classroom instruction, workshops, presentations, and guided nature walks.

2023 Activities –   69 volunteers with 640 hours of service performed

• Outreach and community education provided using chapter trunk material on mammals, prairie, forest, pollinators, wetlands, and birds.
• Outreach booths at: Cedar Ridge Preserve, Summer/Fall programs at Pleasant Grove Libraries, TR Hoover during the MLK Jr. Day of Service, NTX Irish Festival, Carrollton Earth Day, TRAC, Nathaniel Hawthorne Earth Day, EarthX, Rowlett Earth Day, City of Carrollton Nature’s Classroom, State Fair, Judge Charles Rose Park Trinity Spine Trail, and the Sustainability Summit
