Paschall Park Butterfly Trail is a public park located at 1001 New Market Rd., Mesquite TX
Volunteers are crucial for the restoration, preservation, and enhancement of prairie remnants along the Butterfly Trail at Paschall Park, a designated Monarch Waystation. In collaboration with Keep Mesquite Beautiful, we are currently enhancing Meadow One with design elements such as pathways, focal-point wildflowers, and bushes. Activities will encompass planting, weeding, invasive plant removal, and possibly weed-eating and watering. Additionally, volunteers can participate in community and bioblitz events at Paschall Park, which include educational walks and a potential after-school program for children from the nearby elementary school. The Butterfly Trail boasts new (2024) interpretive signage, and we take pride in the diverse iNaturalist postings that affirm the vitality of our meadows for local wildlife. Plans are underway to offer a forest bathing class for adults and nature engagement methods for children, developed by the Texas Children in Nature Network.
